We currently have vacancies for a stock hand and a farm hand.
Our family have been farming and cattle breeding in the Dawson Valley in central QLD since the early 1900’s. We are seeking applications from passionate young people who love to learn and work hard to join our family-based team.
As our mustering is done with horses, we need our stock handling staff to be competent horsemen and women. Duties include mustering, animal husbandry (branding, dipping, weaning, tick treatments, vaccinations, etc) feeding livestock, yard work, fencing and general maintenance and repairs.
Santa, Hereford and Angus breeds make up the majority of our cattle bloodlines, and we pride ourselves on educating young cattle to be quiet to handle.
Duties include operating tractors with a range of implements and a variety of machinery, related to broad acre cropping, irrigation and hay making; as well as regular servicing and repairs.
Applicants must posses a basic understanding of machinery, and general repair and maintenance tasks. All John Deere tractors are fitted with GPS navigation.
Irrigation is delivered by centre pivots and flood irrigation.
For all positions, experience in the areas of work described is desirable, but not as important as a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
A current, valid drivers license and your own vehicle is necessary.
The salary package consists of a fortnightly wage reflecting your experience, permanent accommodation - including electricity, and wireless or satellite internet.
Accommodation available on farm for single staff in a furnished self contained cottage, or family accommodation in a three bedroom house. All accommodation is air conditioned.
*At this time, no dogs can be accommodated in the single accommodation*
